1. I'm going to get healthy.
2. I'm going to get organized.
To accomplish both of these goals, I'm going to make use of something you are probably all familiar with....
Pinterest.
I have to admit, I have become slightly obsessed with Pinterest since I joined. I have at the current count sixty-nine boards and over six thousand pins. And I'm not even doing this professionally! So to make sure that all the hours spent hunched over my keyboard pinning and repinning weren't wasted, I'm going to have to crack down and start actually using the things I've pinned. That means trying new recipes, making crafts and, apparently, preparing for the apocalypse.
Here are my Pinterest boards:
I suppose a little explanation might be in order. First of all, all of my boards (with the exception of a group board that I mistakenly joined and can't seem to get rid of) are named after Bon Jovi songs. They are my favorite band and always will be. :) Now, it was a little difficult to come up with names for the categories I wanted. There's not too many Bon Jovi songs about breakfast food! So some of these titles were a bit of a stretch. First row, you have marriage, fitness, and healthy eating for grown-ups and kids. Second row is breakfast recipes, rock and roll music, the Titanic, saving money and beauty.
Then we have one of my personal favorites, Celluloid Heroes, which is devoted to superheroes, especially the Avengers and Batman. (I did say I was a nerd, right?) Then we have traveling, jewelry, cleaning and non-alcoholic drinks. The next row is books and writing, health (adult & junior), snack foods and fashion. I swear if this was my closet, I'd be the best-dressed person I know!
The first board here is just random stuff I like, then there's things I want to buy, men's fashion, adult hair, kids' hair, bread recipes, soul music, bucket list, crafts and kids' crafts.
Next we have nails, a board devoted to Friends, household tips, dancing, my dream house, abandoned stuff, alcoholic drinks, animals, decorating and decorating kids' rooms.
This row is country music, a board all about LOTR, funny stuff, quotes, main dish recipes, alternative music, desserts, books I want to read, male celebrities and games for kids.
Finally, the last of my boards! Places I've been, sauce recipes, female celebrities, gardening, side dishes, homemade mixes, photography and camping. There's also the group board I mentioned that I really don't do anything with. I just can't figure out how to get rid of it!
So you can see I have my work cut out for me. I figured up once that just to make the recipes, if I made one everyday, it would take me over three years just to get through them all! And of course, I haven't stopped pinning recipes lately.
But anyway, to go back to my original topic, I'm going to focus on my healthy eating, fitness and organizing boards to start with. I'll share my experiences, what works and what doesn't.
What are your goals for this year? And if you're on Pinterest, please share what you like to pin and the ideas that have worked for you.
I thought I was bad with Pinterest! You are turning into a professional pinner :) Im gonna have to get on your boards and check them out. I love your ideas about getting organized and im going to learn a lot from them, if I could just make myself do it!
ReplyDeleteLol! I know what you mean, Rachael! I've always wanted to be organized, I just haven't managed to get it done. Hopefully Pinterest will help!
